Sparklecoon Feeding Philosophy

At our cattery, nutrition is approached with the same care and intention that guides every aspect of how we raise our Maine Coons. We believe in premium ingredients, balanced nourishment, and thoughtful variety, always chosen with long-term health and development in mind.

For kitten dry food, we feed only Farmina N&D Chicken & Pomegranate. We selected this formula very deliberately, as Farmina states that 98% of its protein is derived from animal sources, which aligns beautifully with our preference for a truly meat-forward diet during this important stage of growth. 

Alongside their core dry food, our kittens are introduced to a curated selection of premium canned and freeze-dried foods from brands such as Ziwi, Tiki Cat, Nulo, and Orijen. We value this gentle exposure to different textures and recipes early in life, as it helps kittens grow into confident, flexible eaters. We may also offer raw food as an occasional snack, but never in place of a balanced kitten diet.

For our adult cats, we continue the same philosophy of quality and variety. We rotate carefully chosen dry foods such as Instinct High Protein / Raw Boost, Farmina N&D Lamb & Blueberry, and Nutrience Sub-Zero Prairie Red, allowing us to alternate between white and red meat proteins while keeping the diet both balanced and appealing. We also prefer not to feed seafood-based dry food as part of our regular program.

In the end, our goal is simple: to raise Maine Coons on a diet that is refined in quality, rich in animal-based nutrition, and thoughtfully varied - a feeding philosophy designed to support healthy growth, excellent condition, and the signature beauty of the Maine Coon breed.
